Restream to external platforms
Save RTMP destinations and send a live room to YouTube, Facebook, Telegram, or another RTMP endpoint.
Restream destinations are managed at /translation/restream. The Restream feature must be enabled for the organization. A destination can also be selected from the in-room restream controls when a room is live.
Add a destination
- Open /translation/restream.
- Choose Add destination.
- Select a platform preset.
- Enter a name.
- Confirm or replace the RTMP or RTMPS URL.
- Paste the stream key.
- Choose landscape 16:9 or portrait 9:16.
- Optionally choose the audio language.
- Optionally enable captions and choose a caption layout.
- Save the destination.
The current presets are YouTube, Facebook, Telegram, and Other (RTMP). A preset only fills starting values and instructions; the final URL and key come from the platform.
Platform notes:
- YouTube uses the live-streaming server and key from YouTube Studio.
- Facebook uses the values from the Live Producer or streaming-software view.
- Telegram requires both the server URL and key shown for the channel video chat.
- Other (RTMP) accepts an RTMP or RTMPS ingest server.
Protect stream keys
Stream keys are write-only after saving. The destination list shows only the last four characters of a saved key. When editing an existing destination, leave the key field empty to keep the stored key; enter a new key to rotate it.
Do not paste a key into a page, ticket, screenshot, chat message, or video recording. Delete a destination when the external channel should no longer be reachable from moschee.io.
Configure output
Each destination stores its own:
- Orientation: landscape 16:9 or portrait 9:16.
- Audio: original audio or a selected available language.
- Captions: off or on.
- Caption layout: the layout offered by the current application.
Different combinations of orientation, audio, captions, and caption layout can require separate outgoing encodes. Review the live control summary before starting several destinations.
Start and monitor
The Restream page displays the organization’s current restream quota and a note about how quota usage is handled. In a live room, select the saved destination, review the output choices, and start it. Monitor the destination status and any displayed last error. Stop the egress from the live control when the room ends or the destination is no longer needed.
Edit, disable, or delete
Use the edit control to change the name, URL, orientation, audio, captions, or key. Delete a destination when it is obsolete. An empty destination list is a valid state; add a destination before trying to start an external output.
If the platform rejects the stream, check the URL, key, platform permissions, live-event status, orientation support, and whether the key has expired. The external platform’s own live dashboard is the authoritative place to confirm reception.
