Official mobile app and notifications

The official moschee.io mobile app is a companion for community members. Administrators configure notifications and deep links in the organization dashboard; members install the app from the official store listing and use their device to open shared content.

Configure notifications

1. Open your organization profile and choose Integrations.
2. Configure Firebase Cloud Messaging with the service account required by your deployment, if your organization uses Firebase delivery.
3. Enable official moschee.io app notifications.
4. Choose the notification templates and review their placeholders.
5. Send a test notification to a test device before notifying the community.

Keep service-account files and notification credentials private. Rotate them when a staff member, device, or vendor no longer needs access.

Deep links

moschee.io can generate links that open a public news article, event, donation project, or live room. Share the public URL first; a device with the official app can then offer the app-opening path. A browser remains the fallback when the app is not installed.

Test each link on iOS and Android before printing a QR code or publishing it in a notification. Test the not-found and scheduled-room states as well as a live room.

What the dashboard does not configure

The dashboard does not manage a member’s phone permissions, app-store account, notification permission, or device operating-system settings. Members must allow notifications on their own device. Store URLs and supported app versions should be taken from the current official listing rather than copied from an old document.

Troubleshooting

• No notification: verify the integration credentials, app toggle, template, device permission, and test token.
• Link opens in a browser: check whether the app is installed and whether the device supports the current deep-link scheme.
• Wrong content opens: regenerate the link from the current public item and test the organization and item identifiers.
• Arabic layout looks wrong: test the Arabic locale in the public page and in the app separately.
