Screen settings, alerts, and messages
Configure the organization-wide prayer display, per-prayer behavior, hadith rotation, and temporary screen messages.
Video placeholder
Add a localized screen recording here: switch the layout, configure a prayer alert, enable a hadith rotation, and publish a temporary message.
Open /screens/settings. The page has General and Alerts tabs. The alerts tab can also be opened with /screens/settings?tab=alerts.
General settings
Display layout
Choose how prayer content and playlist slides share the screen:
- Mawaqit style: a centered clock and prominent prayer cards; playlist slides appear as periodic fullscreen overlays.
- Split view: playlist slides remain visible beside the prayer panel; each timetable slide controls whether its panel is on the side, at the bottom, or hidden.
Ticker
Enter announcement or reminder text for a scrolling ticker. Leave the field empty to hide the ticker. The organization-wide ticker can be overridden per device from the device detail sheet.
Adhan and post-prayer adhkar
- Set the adhan duration between 30 and 600 seconds.
- Enable or disable post-prayer adhkar.
- Set an individual duration for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha.
- Use
0minutes to skip post-prayer adhkar for a prayer.
Random hadith
The hadith settings control whether random hadiths appear, which language or bilingual language pair is used, and during which interval random hadiths are disabled. Available intervals are:
- No deactivation
- Between Fajr and Dhuhr
- Between Dhuhr and Asr
- Between Asr and Maghrib
- Between Maghrib and Isha
The language selector includes Arabic, French, Finnish, German, English, Tamil, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, and the corresponding bilingual combinations with Arabic.
Alerts tab
The alert settings control how a screen reacts around prayer and the Friday sermon:
- Iqamah countdown: banner, badge, or hidden.
- Times shown: Athan and Iqamah, Athan only, or Iqamah only.
- Tomorrow’s times after each prayer: on or off.
- Connection status: show or hide a small indicator when the connection is lost.
- During prayer: normal display, locked with a reminder, or black screen.
- During the Friday sermon (khutbah): normal display, locked with a reminder, or black screen.
Saving alert settings requires an administrator or owner. Per-device overrides can change the same alert choices for an individual screen.
Screen messages
The General tab also contains temporary screen messages. Create a message with one of these types:
- Text: requires text content.
- Image: uses an image from the media library.
- Video (YouTube): requires a valid YouTube URL.
- Parking alert: requires a vehicle photo and supports an optional license-plate photo.
For every message, choose landscape or portrait orientation, a display duration from 5 to 300 seconds, whether it is persistent, its start and end dates, and whether it is enabled. A message is shown only when enabled and inside its date window. Deleting a message cannot be undone.
Use messages for short-lived information that should overlay the normal screen experience. Use playlist slides for reusable ordered content.
