A smartphone is the fastest way to stream audio—easy to set up and works anywhere.

Requirements

• Smartphone (iOS or Android)
• moschee.io mobile app
• Livestreaming feature enabled- Stable internet (Wi‑Fi recommended)

Start an audio stream

Step by step

1. Open the app

   • Launch the moschee.io app
   • Sign in

2. Open livestreaming

   • Go to Livestreaming
   • Choose Audio stream

3. Allow permissions

   • Allow microphone access
   • The prompt appears the first time

4. Start streaming

   • Tap Go live
   • The stream starts immediately
   • Listeners get notified (if enabled)

5. End the stream

   • Tap End stream
   • Confirm to stop

Improve audio quality

Mic placement

• Keep the phone close to the speaker (30–50 cm)
• Not directly in front of the mouth (avoid plosives)
• Hold steady or use a stand

Room acoustics

• Choose a quiet space
• Reduce echo with carpets/curtains
• Avoid HVAC noise

Internet connection

Use an external microphone

Translation setup

Scenario: Translator in the mosque

1. Translator sits in a separate room/area
2. Hears the imam via speakers/headphones
3. Speaks the translation into the phone
4. moschee.io streams it to listeners in the app

Setup tips

• Headphones for the translator: Prevent the original audio from bleeding into the stream
• Quiet spot: Use a booth or corner
• Good signal: Check Wi‑Fi coverage

Multiple languages

For several languages at once:

1. One phone per language
2. Each translator in their own space
3. Separate streams in moschee.io
4. Listeners pick their language in the app

Battery and power

Battery usage

Audio streaming uses less battery than video:

• About 10–15% per hour
• More on older devices

Charge while streaming

• Plug in via USB
• Use a power bank
• Wireless charging (if supported)

Tips for best results

Before streaming

• Check Wi‑Fi connection
• Charge battery (at least 50%)
• Make a test recording
• Check levels
• Silence notifications (Do Not Disturb)

During streaming

• Keep the phone still
• Disable screen lock
• Avoid opening other apps
• Watch listener count

After streaming

• End the stream properly
• Gather listener feedback
• Review the recording (if enabled)

Troubleshooting

No audio in the stream

1. Check mic permission (app settings)
2. Test the mic (record a voice memo)
3. Restart the app

Stream drops

1. Check the internet connection
2. Move closer to the Wi‑Fi router
3. Switch to mobile data as backup

Echo in the stream

• Use headphones for the speaker
• Lower the volume
• Move the mic further from the speaker
