Donation tiers
Offer fixed one-time sponsorship amounts inside a donation project.
Donation tiers
Donation tiers are named, fixed-amount sponsorship options inside a project. They are also called project building blocks in the dashboard. Manage them at /donations/projects/[id]/tiers.
Tier fields
Each tier can contain:
- A required title, up to 255 characters
- An optional description, up to 2,000 characters
- An optional image URL
- A fixed amount of at least €1.00
- An optional total quantity
- A sort order
If the quantity is empty, the tier has unlimited slots. If a quantity is set, the public experience can show claimed slots against that limit.
Create or edit a tier
- Open the project and choose the Tiers tab.
- Enter the title and amount.
- Add the optional description, image, quantity, and sort order.
- Choose Add tier.
- Open the edit action on an existing tier to change its fields.
The server validates the amount and derives the final tier amount during checkout. A donor who selects a tier cannot turn it into a recurring donation; tier donations are one-time fixed-amount gifts.
Quantity and claimed slots
Successful tier donations increment the claimed quantity. Recurring renewals do not claim a new slot. Do not promise a slot based on an abandoned or failed checkout.
An archived tier remains identifiable in the dashboard but is not a normal active choice. Delete a tier only when the organization understands the effect on future selection and reporting.
Good tier design
- Use titles that describe the sponsorship clearly.
- Keep the amount and description consistent.
- Set a quantity only when the organization can track the real number of available units.
- Test the public project page after adding or changing a tier.
