Project updates

Publish progress updates on a donation project and remove outdated updates.

Project updates

Project updates keep supporters informed after a campaign starts. Manage them at /donations/projects/[id]/updates.

Publish an update

  1. Open the project and choose Updates.
  2. Enter an update title of up to 255 characters.
  3. Write the update in the rich-text editor.
  4. Choose Post update.
  5. Confirm that the new update appears in the posted-updates list.

The update is stored as rich content and is associated with the project. The public project page can display the project’s update timeline.

Write useful updates

Use the update to explain a concrete change: work completed, a milestone reached, a new photograph, a changed deadline, or the next action. Keep amounts, dates, names, and impact statements verifiable. Do not publish private donor information.

Delete an update

The posted-updates list has a delete action for each update. Deleting an update removes that project update from the list and public timeline. It does not refund donations, change the project total, or delete the project itself.

Empty and error states

  • A project with no updates shows an empty state and the form for creating the first update.
  • The page shows a loading state while updates are retrieved.
  • A failed create action keeps the form available and displays an error.
  • A delete action should be checked in the list after the request completes.
