Schedules and playlist assignment
Decide which playlist runs on each display and when a scheduled playlist takes priority.
Video placeholder
Add a localized screen recording here: assign a default playlist, create an enabled weekday window, and show the higher-priority playlist taking over.
Assignment hierarchy
A device resolves its content in this order:
- The highest-priority active schedule.
- The playlist explicitly assigned to the device.
- The organization’s default playlist.
- The legacy fixed layout when no playlist is available.
This means an active schedule takes over every screen, even when a device has another explicit assignment. When no schedule is active, the device assignment wins. When the assignment is cleared, the device falls back to the default playlist.
Assign a playlist to a device
- Open
/screens. - Select the device row.
- In the detail sheet, choose a playlist.
- Save the assignment and confirm the success message.
Choose Default playlist to remove the explicit assignment. If no screens are paired, pair one from screen setup first.
Create a schedule
Schedules are created in the Schedule tab of a playlist editor at /screens/playlists/[playlistId]. Each window has:
- One or more weekdays.
- A start time and end time in
HH:MMformat. - A priority from 0 to 100.
- An enabled/disabled state.
The schedule must contain at least one weekday. The schedule resolver evaluates windows in the organization’s current screen schedule timezone. Use the same local time convention when planning a mosque timetable.
Overlapping windows
When two enabled schedules are active at the same time, the schedule with the higher priority wins. If priorities are equal, the older schedule wins. Keep priorities simple and document why a high-priority window exists so future administrators can understand the result.
Limits and common mistakes
Playlist scheduling is not available on the Gebetszeiten or Basis plans. The current schedule limits are:
| Plan | Maximum schedules |
|---|---|
| Gebetszeiten | 0 |
| Basis | 0 |
| Gemeinde Plus | 10 |
| Reichweite | Unlimited |
An enabled schedule does not create a new playlist or copy slides. It changes which existing playlist is resolved during its window. Check the playlist preview, device assignment, schedule priority, and device connection when a display shows unexpected content.
