Set up and pair a screen

Install a screen client, approve its display-only session, and connect it to your mosque.

Open Screens → Set up a screen at /screens/setup. The page shows the current hosted-screen URL and the approval page used by the pairing flow.

Open a screen client

Use one of the clients offered on the setup page:

A hosted screen in a TV browser.
The moschee.io app from a supported Smart TV store.
The desktop app for Windows, macOS, or Linux.
Moschee OS for Raspberry Pi when an image is available in the dashboard.

The setup page is the source of truth for currently available downloads. A download card marked as being prepared is not yet available.

The screen displays a short code and a QR code. Open or scan it on a phone or computer where you are already signed in as a mosque administrator. The approval page is /device on the current application host.

Select and approve the organization

If you administer more than one organization, choose which mosque the screen should display. Approve the device, then return to the screen. The device should appear as online under Screens → Devices.

Display-only security

Pairing creates a display-only device session. The screen does not receive an administrator login or the organization’s dashboard credentials. Administrators manage the device from the dashboard and can disconnect it at any time.

Installation notes

Hosted TV screen

The hosted screen is the quickest path for a Smart TV or browser. Open the hosted URL shown in /screens/setup, keep the browser in fullscreen, and disable the TV screensaver if it interrupts the display.

Smart TV apps

The setup page provides the current instructions for Samsung Tizen and LG webOS. Store availability and the exact installation step belong to the TV platform, not the moschee.io dashboard.

Desktop app

Choose the installer for Windows, macOS, or Linux and the matching architecture. Intel/AMD machines normally use x64; Apple Silicon Macs and compatible ARM devices use ARM64. The desktop client can run fullscreen, cache content for offline use, and update itself.

Moschee OS

When the image is available, Moschee OS supports Raspberry Pi 3, 4, and 5. The setup page describes the required microSD card, network connection, first-start Wi-Fi setup, and image download. It boots into a fullscreen display and is designed for unattended use.

After pairing

Give the device a useful name such as Prayer hall from its detail sheet.
Assign a playlist or rely on the organization default.
Check the display layout and prayer data.
Use Identify if you need to match a dashboard row to a physical screen.

If the device does not appear, continue with device fleet management and troubleshooting.
