Legal and organizational responsibilities
Understand the responsibilities that remain with the organization when it collects donations through moschee.io.
Legal and organizational responsibilities
moschee.io provides donation workflow and reporting tools. The organization remains responsible for the truthfulness, authorization, tax treatment, donor communication, and lawful use of those tools.
Payment accounts and payouts
The connected Stripe account and SumUp account belong to the organization. Complete provider onboarding with accurate information, monitor requirements, review payouts, and keep access limited to authorized people. A connected status in moschee.io does not replace the provider’s terms, verification, or account controls.
Donation receipts
Enable donation receipts only when the organization is eligible to issue them. Verify the tax number, tax office, authorized signatory, charitable purpose, donor identity, donor address, donation date, and amount according to the organization’s process. The receipt settings page explicitly places responsibility for accuracy and tax-exempt status on the organization.
A personalized certificate for a gift or in-memory dedication is a separate document. It must not be presented as proof of tax deductibility.
Giving categories
Zakat, Zakat al-Fitr, Sadaqah, Fidya, Qurbani, and Aqiqah are recorded according to the donor’s selected intention and the organization’s configuration. The built-in calculator displays configured values; it does not determine the donor’s religious obligation or replace qualified local guidance.
Use campaign descriptions that match the organization’s actual use of funds. Do not use an impact label, leaderboard, or deadline to make a claim the organization cannot verify.
Donor privacy
Donor names, email addresses, addresses, messages, dedications, and recipient emails are personal information. Limit dashboard access, protect exports, keep portal links private, and avoid showing private data in screenshots or public campaign updates. Anonymous donations should remain anonymous in public leaderboards and donor-facing displays.
Refunds and disputes
Keep a record of the decision behind refunds, offline corrections, failed payments, and disputes. Use Stripe for eligible online refunds and the offline delete path only for erroneous offline records. Do not alter records to hide a refund or dispute.
